Live Theater
at Chester Senior Center
The Chester
Senior Center invites everyone to attend our annual Theatre production on
Thursday, May 24, 2012! This year's production is "To Cross an Ocean
Four Centuries Long." It is a riveting story of the critical moments
in the lives of three 18th century enslaved women: Phillis Wheatley, Abby Jay
and an unnamed enslaved woman who shared a household with John Woolman.
The story depicts struggle, victory, labor, and sacrifice in helping to build a
nation! The play will be enhanced with music and African American
spirituals. The story is written by Dr. Amanda Kemp of Theater for
Transformation. The morning show will be a 1 woman performance and the
evening show will be a full cast complement! You don't want to miss
either performance.
