After dropping their last two games, Chester gets an
easy 84-38 victory over the host Interboro Buccaneers. With the win the
Clippers improved to 11-9 overall and 5-2 in league play. Chester never trailed
in the contest. They led 13-11 after the first quarter, 26-9 at the half and
65-28 at the end of the third quarter.
Terrence Cobb led the way with a game high 25 points.
Breilynd White and Kyree Womack also scored in double figures with 14 and 10
points respectively. The following added
their names to the scoring column: Dominic Toy (4), Andre Brown (3), Dante
Atkinson (5), Ra'Shaad Dorsey (2), Jerry Young (2), Jaseir Thompson (7),
Vincent Coleman (9) and Nijah Carpenter (3).
The Clippers will return to the Clip Joint on Tuesday,
February 7 with the Del Val League Championship on the line. The Clippers will
host the Chichester Eagles who currently sit atop the Del Val with a 6-1
record. JV will tip-off at 5:30 pm with the Varsity to follow. A Clippers win
would force a three-way tie for the Del Val Championship with Chester,
Chichester and Penn Wood all finishing with a 6-2 record.
Schedule Changes:
The game on February 4 against Eastside was cancelled. Replacing that
contest will be a Chester City Championship game on Saturday, February 11. The
JV will tip-off at 1:00 pm with the Varsity to follow.
JV GAME SUMMARY
The JV team improved to 11-2 on the season after a
65-39 victory over Interboro. Germain Glover led the way with a game high 11
points. The remaining nine players that saw action also put their names in the
scoring column: Andre Brown (5), Jaseir Thompson (9), Tae'Qwann Naylor (4),
Ra'Shaad Dorsey (8), Tashon Gibson (6), Kristian Chambers (8), Kameron Wilson
(6), Nyrell Pray (7) and Dante Lee (1).
