Funder Briefing on Chester City With Mayor John Linder and Expert Panel
DVG and the Delaware County Community Foundation are pleased to present this special funders briefing on the City of Chester!

This half-day interactive program will shed light on a variety of innovative programs and collaborations taking place in the City. It will provide a high-level conversation designed to educate and inform the funding community on the current state of the City and highlight opportunities where funders may have an impact.

Kicking off the event will be a keynote address from Chester Mayor John Linder, who will provide an overview of the City's needs and his administration's priorities and goals for the coming years. Following Mayor Linder's address will be a panel discussion moderated by former Chester Economic Development Director Jim Turner with representatives from various City-wide collaboratives and City agencies addressing key issue areas such as community and economic development, health, youth, education, housing, family security, and advocacy/planning. The panel discussion will focus on successes and challenges within these areas and offer funders a big-picture view of potential areas for engagement. Panelists will include:
  • Cheryl Cunningham, Chester Education Foundation
  • Steven Fischer, Chester Housing Authority
  • Carl Montoya, SC2 / ChesterHealth Collaborative
  • Janet Riley Ford, Chester Youth Collaborative
  • Doreen Storey, United Way of Southeast Delaware County
An open discussion period at the end of the panel will allow time for funders in the audience to share examples of their work in the City and for audience Q&A.

The program will conclude with an optional lunch and tour of the city that will run until 2:00 PM.
