Bath Iron Works, 2007, Kass Morin Freeman, Juror |
The Philadelphia Water Color
Society was founded in 1900 to offset the then common exhibition
prejudice against watercolor. Today, it continues its mission
of furthering watercolor art through annual exhibitions that have
evolved into open and international events. More than 500 international
artists comprise the Philadelphia Water Color Society membership.
The exhibition is juried by award-winning artist Kass Morin Freeman. Educated at the Moore College of Art and Design and Tyler School of Fine Art, Freeman has been involved for more than 30 years as a teacher, juror and workshop instructor with many groups and art institutions.
Having won more than 120 major
awards in regional, national and international art exhibitions, Freeman’s work
has been featured in several books and art publications. She is an elected
member of the American and National Watercolor Societies and the Philadelphia
Water Color Society among others.
