Chester High School Lockdown

Due to overwhelming response to the inaccuracies of news reports this morning:

At about 8:06 am, Chester High School “was alerted to police activity outside the building around 9th and Barclay Streets. Following standard operating procedure the school was secured (locked down) not allowing anyone in or out while the police investigated the matter.”

Since the incident was not school related, “At about 8:40 am, the Police Commissioner gave the approval to lift the secured lockdown and the regular school day continued.”

In reference to the incident outside the school, all questions should be directed to the Chester Police Department.

School staff was debriefed by Chester High School Principal Constance McAlister. Letters to parents were also sent home.
