Chester Clippers Boys Basketball vs. Christ The King

The buildup was Philly vs. New York. Chester was one of the teams to represent Philly in the 5th Annual Villa Classic at Widener University. And represent they should, Chester has been on a winning streak since last season. They are the Champs after all. The Clippers are an entity unto themselves. I missed out on the other Widener games so I had to go see this one. The parking lot was full but Widener provided shuttle service out of the rain. So convenient, no stress! I treated my home team to the game. The Clippers did not disappoint.

The defending PIAA (4A) champions went up against NYC Catholic League Champions, Christ The King (CTK). The Clippers ended first quarter behind 11 to 14, nothing to worry about. By half time, Clippers were in front by one point 27 to 26. Third quarter a lot of struggle for the ball, tied the game 36 to 36 too close for me with 3 minutes to go, it was time for the clippers to break away and get a good lead. I think they heard me. With 1 minute 17 seconds to go, Clippers brought the score back up 43 to 37. They kept it going at the top of 4th quarter, 47 to 39. The Clippers moved up 50 to 41 with 5:16 to go but at under 3 minutes, CTK battled back to make it a close game again, Chester still maintaining lead 53 to 50. Clippers ended with a win of 65 to 53.

Another great game Clippers! To look at the game on video click the link on the right at the top.
