Chester Clippers Boys Basketball falls to Bishop Shanahan

The 3rd seeded Clippers (18-7) went frigid in the 4th and fall 47-61 to the 2nd seeded Bishop Shanahan (22-4) Eagles in the first half of the District-1 Semi-finals. Chester will face 4th seeded Wissahickon who were defeated 45-40 by #1 seeded Penncrest in the other Semi-final matchup. The Chester-Wissahickon game for 3rd place in District 1 will be played on Friday, March 2nd at the Clip Joint. Tip-off will be at 7:00 p.m.

The game was a close contest through the first 3 quarters. It was tied at 15 at the end of the 1st quarter. Chester led 28-26 at the intermission and Bishop Shanahan had the lead 43-42 after the 3rd quarter. After Javan Graham tied the score at 45 with 6:18 on the clock by connecting on 1 of 2 free throws, the Clippers shot 1 for 14 the rest of the way resulting in the 13 point loss.

Brian Randolph III and Rahmaad DeJarnette led with 11 points apiece and Rahmee Gilbert joined them in double figures with 10. Michael Smith scored his 8 points and Timothy Johnston added his 2 points in the opening quarter. Karell Watkins dropped in his four points in the 2nd quarter before fouling out of the contest.
