Chester - 64, Erie McDowell - 57

The Clippers (9-6) shook both the winter storm and
previous night's loss and rebounded with a 64-57 victory over the host Erie
McDowell Trojans. For the second game in a row Chester started hot led once
again by senior Khaleeq Campbell and Marquis Collins with 7 and 5 points
respectively including each with a 3 point basket. The team connected on 6 of 6
free throws with juniors Ahrod Carter (4 of 4) and Jamar Sudan (2 of 2) doing
the damage. Senior Maurice Henry capped the first quarter scoring with a
putback dunk. Carter started the contest with the absence of Stanley Davis who
return home to Chester due to illness. Chester led 20-14 after one. Senior
Donald Hodges came off the bench and drained his 5 points in the 2nd quarter as
the Clippers held off the Trojans and led 30-26 at the half. Campbell drained
two more treys, Collins added four more points and the team connected on 9 of
12 free throws as McDowell cut into Chester's lead. At the end of the 3rd
quarter, Chester - 49, McDowell - 46. Campbell, Jahmi Bailey-Green, Sudan and
Collins each had a field goal and once again the Clippers were successful at
the charity stripe going 7 of 8 to pull away for the win. Sudan was 2 of 2,
Collins was 2 of 2 and game MVP Khaleeq Campbell was 3 of 4 and finished with a
game high 18 points.
Marquis Collins (13) and Jamar Sudan (12) joined their teammate in double figures. The other Chester scorers were Hodges (5), Carter (5), Henry (4), Bailey-Green (4) and Jamal Jones (3).
The Clippers will return to action on Thursday, January 21st when they travel to Glenolden, Pa to take on the Interboro Bucs in a Del Val League contest.
