Congrats
to Chester Clipper & Arizona legendary basketball player Herman Harris, who
was inducted into the PA Sports Hall of Fame Delaware County Chapter this past
weekend.
Herman Harris had a big impact in
his first varsity basketball season at Chester High School. Harris averaged
19.4 points a game as a sophomore during the 1970-71 season. In addition, he
set a Delaware County record with 64 points in a game against Oxford High
School that year.
After that, he led the county in
scoring as a junior, when he tallied 21.7 points and helped the Clippers play
for the state title. In his senior year, he averaged 24.3 points a game and
completed his scholastic career with 1,725 points while earning All-State
honors.
