Widener students host dinner series with flavors from around the world

Widener Press Release

Students from the Widener University Center for Hospitality Management have kicked off the popular “Spring 2018 Themed Dinner Series – A Fine Dining Experience.” Throughout the semester, members of the public are invited to experience fine dining and vibrant flavors from around the world.

Guests will enjoy a four-course, fixed-price meal prepared and served by the Center for Hospitality Management students as part of their Restaurant Operations Management Course.

The student management teams are assigned a theme and each team plans, develops and executes the meal from pre- to post-production to create an elegant and formal dining experience. The students – many of whom are pursuing careers in event planning and restaurant/hotel management – are responsible for service, operations and financial management all while managing their fellow students that are producing and serving these meals.

Dinner is served in the J. Willard & Alice S. Marriott Dining Room located in Academic Center North on the Main Campus of Widener University in Chester.

The dinners are prepared on select Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and reservations are required. For reservations, please call 610-499-1127 or e-mail scbishopp@widener.edu. Reservations for parties of six or more must confirm the Friday before the reservation date. Any unconfirmed reservations will be canceled.

Menus and prices for each meal will be available online at widener.edu/academics/schools/sba/hospitality/Marriott.aspx.

Themed meals will be held on the following Wednesdays:
  • Feb. 28 – A Hawaiian Luau
  • March 14 – Cuban Fusion
  • March 21 – The Rustic Southwest
  • March 28 – A Sample of the United Kingdom
