Chester Clippers Boys Basketball wins on second half surge

The Clippers used a 31-13 second half outburst to sail pass the Glen Mills Battlin' Bulls 65-39 at the Clip Joint. The win puts the Clippers at 14-5 overall, 8-0 atop the Del Val and stretches their 13 game winning streak into the month of February. Michael Smith and Brian Randolph led the way with 13 points apiece. In all 10 of the 11 Clippers scored in tonight contest. Chester led 11-10 after the first quarter and used a 23 points 2nd quarter to give them a little breathing room at 34-26 at the intermission. The Clippers used a suffocating press and outstanding zone to limit the Bulls to 6 third quarter points while producing 15 in route to a 49-32 lead going into the final quarter. Chester extended the floor with their zone defense which continued to limit the scoring opportunities for the Bulls. The end result was another single digit quarter (7 points) for the Bulls.

Zahmir Carroll joined Rahmaad DeJarnette on the team's injured list.

The Clippers will return to action tomorrow, Friday - February 2nd, evening with the Bayard Rustin Knights from West Chester visit the Clip Joint. The JV tips off at 6:00 with the Varsity to follow.
