Report by Terry Thomas
Chester
- 69, Chichester - 44
Chester (15-4, 7-1) clipped the wings of the
Chichester Eagles with an easy 69-44 decision at the Clip Joint. Senior Jordan
Camper matched his career high with 22 points to lead the Clippers. He also
recorded a double double by cleaning the glass with 10 rebounds and his 4
blocked shots puts his career total at 102 passing Brandon "BJ"
Robinson (101) on that list. The Clippers knocked down three treys to take
control in the opening quarter which opened the lane for Jordan (4), Jaimhy
Evans (2) and Brian Randolph III (2) to score on the inside. Michael Smith,
Ahrod Carter and Jamar Sudan were responsible for the treys. Chester - 19,
Chichester - 11. With Smith and now Jah'meir Springfield connecting from long
distance, once again the lane was open for Sudan (6), Evans (2) and Timothy
Johnston (2) to score. The Clippers were full steam ahead at this point. At the
half it was Chester - 37, Chichester - 23. The heat of the Clip Joint coupled
with the defensive heat applied by the Clippers limited the Eagles to an 8
point 3rd quarter while Camper outscored his foes with a 10 point quarter and
Chester was out to a 24 point lead. Carter and Smith continued to connect from
behind the 3-point line and Chester ended the quarter with a 55-31 advantage.
Camper's fourth dunk and final points of the evening gave the Clippers their
biggest margin at 65-33. Larry Yarbray Jr added his name to the list of
trey-makers and one of 10 Clippers to score on the night.
Jamar Sudan again joined Camper in the
double-double club collecting 10 rebounds to go along with his 11 points.
Michael Smith and Ahrod Carter just missed double figures with 9 and 8 points
respectively. Jaimhy Evans added 6 points, Larry Yarbray Jr, Jah'meir
Springfield and Timothy Johnston each contributed 3 points while Brian Randolph
III and Rahmaad DeJarnette completed the scoring with 2 points apiece.
The Clippers will celebrate their seniors on Saturday, February 4th
which is the last regular season game they will play at the Clip Joint. Their
opponent that night will be the John Bartram Braves from the Philadelphia
Public League. The JV tips off at 6:00 p.m. with the Varsity to follow.
Chester will play their last two regular
season games on the road when they travel to Academy Park on Tuesday, February 7th and
