Chester Boys Basketball rebounds from loss

Chester 77, Chichester 56

The Clippers (10-3, 3-0) rebounded from their loss on Martin L. King Jr's birthday with a sound wind over the Chichester Eagles 77-56 in Del Val League action. Senior Jordan Camper led the way and made is presence felt with a career high of 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. The Clippers led from start to finish in this contest. Chester scored early and often as well as inside and outside in the first quarter using seven players to produce 29 points while holding the host Eagles to 10. Camper led the way with 8 points included two dunks while Jamar Sudan, Ahrod Carter and junior Timothy Johnston were hitting from three point range. Junior Brian Randolph III worked the glass for his 4 points and sophomore Michael Smith dropped in a floater and connected on two free throws for his 4 first quarter points. The 29 points are the largest single quarter points production this season. Camper's front court mate Sudan led the charge in the second quarter with 8 of his 17 points as he too finished the game with a double double hauling in 10 rebounds. Camper added 4 more points, senior Tyrel Lennon knocked down a trey and Randolph joined sophomore Rahmaad DeJarnette with a bucket as the Clippers continued to separate themselves from the Eagles. Halftime score: Chester - 48, Chichester - 19. Camper continued to work in the paint with two more dunks off feeds from Carter and Randolph enroute to 8 third quarter points and the Clippers sailed into the 4th quarter with a 66-38 advantage. Sophomore DeJarnette led the way with 4 of his 6 points in the final quarter. Johnston added a bucket to finish with 5 points and sophomore Jaimhy Evans hit 1 of 2 free throws for his only point of the game. In all 10 of the 11 Clippers entered their names in the scoring column in the contest while Chichester depended on 4 players to produce their points.

With Smith and Lennon leading the way with a career highs of 6 and 3 assists, Chester dished 16 assists on their 34 made baskets.  Chester was able to control the pace of the game by out rebounding their opponent 48-27 with DeJarnette collecting a career high of 6. Randolph also walked away with a career high of 4 steals on the evening.

After finishing a 3-1 road trip, Chester will finally return to the Clip Joint for back-to-back games starting on Thursday, January 19th for a Del Val League contest against the visiting Academy Park Knights. JV tip is scheduled for 6:00 pm with the Varsity to follow.
