Due to bus schedule limitations, the Chester Clippers arrived at Newark's gymnasium two hours before game time and it took into the 3rd quarter before they found their legs.  With the Yellowjackets (2-2) encouraged by their standing room only fans hitting on all cylinders, Newark jumped out on the Clippers 44-29 at intermission. Chester started the 3 quarter with a 9-2 run to close the gap to 38-46 at the 5:40 mark forcing the Yellowjackets to take a timeout. The Clippers continued their surge after the timeout; Jamar Sudan feed Jordan Camper an alley-oop at 1:32 to draw within two - 54-52. After forcing a turnover, Jah'meir Springfield slipped a pass to Camper for another two handed dunk and the game was tied at 54 at 1:05. During this run Jordan Camper recorded 4 of his career high 7 blocked shots. Camper became just the 7th Clipper in the last 23 years to record at least 7 blocked shots in a game. Ahrod Carter (5), Jah'meir Springfield (3), Jaimhy Evans (2), Jamar Sudan (9) and Camper (6) combined to outscore the Newark 25-14 in that 3rd quarter. The Clippers continued to work both ends of the floor in the 4th by limiting their opponent to just 12 and connecting on 20 points of their own. The Clippers opened the final quarter with a 11-5 run ignited by Sudan's old fashioned three point play, followed by treys from Michael Smith and Carter and the run was capped by a floater from Carter that would give the Clippers the lead for good 65-63 at 4:16. Consecutive turnovers allowed the Yellowjackets to close the gap to 69-68 with 47 seconds remaining. Evans would provide an assist to Sudan before Newark would answer to keep the lead at one - 71-70. After a turnover by the Yellowjackets, Sudan would once again connect with Camper for another dunk with 6.7 seconds remaining. Chester - 73, Newark - 70. Newark would call a timeout but would be assessed with a Technical Foul because they had exhausted their allocated allotment and Chester would complete their scoring at the foul line.
