Jameer Nelson Wooden Award Sports rarity on display at Mickey Vernon Sports Museum

The John R Wooden Award for Player of the Year is given annually to the most outstanding college basketball player. For the 2003/2004 season, this award was given to Saint Joseph’s University’s Jameer Nelson. After leading Chester High School to the State Championship in 2000, Jameer led the hawks to a 27-0 regular season record and a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in the 2003/2004 season. He is currently in his twelfth NBA season. Jameer’s 2004 Wooden Award is now on display at the Sports Legends of Delaware County Museum. This Sports Rarity will be on display for visitors during February 2016, compliments of the Saint Joseph’s University Athletic Department and it’s Director of Athletics, Dominick DiJulia. The museum is located at 301 Iven Avenue in Radnor, Pa. It is open from 9am to 3pm on Monday through Friday and on certain weekend days by appointment.
