Chester Children's Chorus and St. David's Episcopal Church Youth Choir performing free joint concert

The Chester Children's Chorus and St. David's Episcopal Church Youth Choir will be performing a free joint concert event on Sunday, February 21 at 5 p.m. in St. David’s Chapel, located at 763 South Valley Forge Road, Wayne, Pa.

“We have been looking forward to this event for over a year now,” remarked Chester Children’s Chorus director, John Alston.

The Chester Children’s Chorus (CCC) currently includes 120 boys and girls, age 8 to 18 years old from the Chester Upland school district. Established in 1994, it is a program of Swarthmore College. 40 Chorus students will be singing in the event.

The St. David's Episcopal Church Youth Choir has 30 youth in grades 6-12. Their director, Elaine Sonnenberg, has worked with the Choir for four years. “We are excited for the opportunity to collaborate with the Chester Children's Chorus. John Alston, through his wonderful vision, has developed a fabulous program that brings great music to so many children and youth. It will be a joy to sing with them!"

The choirs will be singing classical and sacred selections ranging from Faure to spirituals arranged by Dr. Alston. More information on the Chester Children’s Chorus can be found at www.chesterchildrenschorus.org and for St. David's Episcopal Church Youth Choir at www.stdavidschurch.org
