Chester - 57, Sanford - 59

The Chester Clippers let one get away in dropping a
57-59 decision to the Sanford Warriors in the opener of the 2015-16 season.
After trailing 20-12 at the end of the 1st quarter, the Clippers outscored the
Warriors 34-20 in the middle two quarters and held a 47-40 lead into the 4th
quarter. Chester could not find their mark in the final quarter shooting only
20% while Sanford connected on 80% of their shots and knocked down 9 of 12 free
throws. Sanford led 58-57 with 26 second remaining in the game and after a
timeout found themselves at the charity strip. After connecting on 1 of 2
shots, the Clippers called timeout with 12 seconds on the clock and down by two
- 59-57. Their final shot fell short and the Clippers were sunk in the 3rd
Annual Fred Pickett Classic.
Stanley Davis led the way with 13 points and was joined in double figures by Marquis Collins with 12 points. Khaleeq Campbell in his first action after almost a year away scored 9 points and posted 3 assists in the contest.
The Clippers will take the short trip over to Widener University to take on Martin L. King Jr, Saturday, December 5th with a 7:00 tip-off.
