Clippers Ground Eagles
On Friday
evening there was plenty of lightening at Anthony Apichella Memorial Field as a
strong but quick storm went through the area. But when the skies cleared
Chester provided plenty of thunder as they defeated Chichester 20-0. It was the
Clippers first win of the season (1-4 overall 1-0 Del Val). Chester's defense
provided plenty of thunder as they provided several woo hits and forced
numerous turnovers. Ta'Mir Friend led the defense with 2 interceptions and
Nasheed McCaskill had 1. Niam Little, D'Andre Dill, Arlo Lee and Ed Nelson, Jr
led the "D" with several tackles for loss. Also playing well on
defense were Devan Freeman, Rashaad Shaw, Anthony Sterling, Rashee Alexander,
and Amaru Muhammad. Chester defense held ground on the first series then took
over on downs. Ed Nelson, Jr then ripped off a 63 yard touchdown run and the
Clippers took a lead they would never relinquish. Jamir Green starting at
quarterback scored the other 2 touchdowns on runs and added a 2 points
conversion. Chester had several touchdowns called back because of penalties.
One of beauty was an electrifying 64 yard run by Jaquan "Juke"Flood.
Chester will now get ready for their next league opponent in Glen Mills who
lost to Interboro 31-0. That game will be at Jack Pearson Stadium on the campus
of Glen Mills @7:00pm
Friday October 16th.
