About CUSA:
The Chester Upland School of the Arts (CUSA) is a public school with over 400
students located in the under-resourced community of Chester, Pa. CUSA’s
mission is to improve the community and prepare children for success as
individuals and as active, responsible citizens through a marriage between
arts, dance, and education.
Why: CUSA
teachers have been inspiring leaders, at times working with no pay, donating
materials, and overcoming obstacles each day. One of the school’s major
challenges is the lack of a safe outdoor playground for children to play, be
physically active, and release surplus-energy and stress. Among many goals, SIG
strives to raise $50,000 in order to rebuild CUSA’s playground before classes
start in September 2015.
Who should attend/how:
Attendance is open to the entire public. Ticket prices are $30 for a single
ticket, and $100 for 4 tickets.
