Chester Boys Basketball Season Ends

Basketball Team's picture I took at the beginning of the season

Terry Thomas Report

The Chester Clippers 2014-2015 season came to an end at the Clip Joint with the 55-57 loss to the Coatesville Red Raiders. The loss snapped Chester's 21 year consecutive run of qualifying for the State Tournament which was the longest in the State. It also marked the first time that Chester has lost a home playoff game since 1980 that accounts for 70 games. Sophomore Jamar Sudan led with way for Chester with a game high 18 points and he grabbed 10 rebounds to finish the season with another double-double. Junior Maurice Henry led the team with 11 rebounds and produced 8 points. Junior Marquis Collins contributed 9 points, 3 blocked shots, 7 rebounds and 1 steal in the contest. Junior Jahmi Bailey chimed in with 8 points and senior Keyonte Watkins dropped in the final 8 points of his career as a Clipper. Stanley Davis and sophomore Jordan Camper each contributed two points. Like many of the other games this season, this is yet another one that just got away. With the Clippers leading by one with less than a minute remaining in the contest, Chester almost came away with steal but Watkins was whistled for stepping out of bounds. A missed assignment left an open Coatesville shooter who knocked a trey that game the Red Raiders the lead with 3.5 seconds remaining. Watkins dribbled the ball the length of the court and his shot rimmed out.

Game - Season Over.

*Thanks for your reports Terry.
