Law Day at Chester High School

Law Day Theme: American democracy and rule of law—why every vote matters.

Law day was held at Chester High School today. The district attorneys’ office made their annual visit to talk with students about the law. This year’s case involved a 21 year old sister who took her underage brothers to an NC-17 rated movie. In addition, she bought them beer. She was stopped on suspicion by the police and all were given a breathalyzer test. All three are facing trial. Students discussed the case with the attorneys. A lengthy discussion took place based on what happens if you are stopped by the police. What rights do you have? Further discussion involved crime in the City of Chester. This case presented a very good interactive session between the students and the attorneys.
