The Clippers make their final regular season
game at the Clip Joint a rout as they sailed past the Chichester Eagles 92-45.
Ten of the 11 Chester players that played in the contest were able to add their
names in the scoring column with five of them reaching career highs. The
underclassman backcourt of sophomore Khaleeq Campbell and junior Keyonte
Watkins each set career highs with 13 and 24 points respectively. Khaleeq also
had career highs in assists (8), steals (5) and the 5'7" point guard also
collected a career high 3 rebounds. Meanwhile, the 5'8" Watkins matched
his career high of 4 rebounds. Freshman Jamar Sudan, the 6'3" wing player,
produced career highs of 7 points, 5 rebounds and rejected the first shot of
his really young career. Junior forward 6'4" Quran Foreman knocked down 6
points for a career high and 6'8" Maurice Henry added his name to career
highs with his first assist of his career. And finally, Brewster Ward had a
career highs of four points and 3 rebounds and matched his career high with 2
blocked shots. Seniors Mahir Johnson and Tyrell Sturdivant joined their young
teammates in double digits with 14 and 13 points respectively. Tyrell once
again added his name to the double-double club by collecting 12 rebounds while
Mahir matched his career high of 4 assists. Gabe Adesina and Maurice Henry each
contributed 2 points and Conrad Chambers with 7 points completed the scoring
for the Clippers.
The Clippers (14-3, 6-1) raced out to 20-9 margin in the first quarter and
stretched their lead to 22 points at the half - Chester 41, Chichester - 19.
The Clippers outscored their opponents 51-26 in the second half as the 'Mercy
Rule' was put in effect in the 4th quarters. Chester was on target at the free
throw line hitting on 26 of 31 attempts at a rate of 83.9 percent.
