Students at
Stetser Elementary School in Chester held a health fair on January 15, 2014. The
6th graders from Mrs. Robinson’s class with the assistance of Dr.
Nadine McHenry Widener University education students presented their research
about various health topics in an interactive health fair designed to entertain
and inform the community. Principal Janet Baldwin said the purpose of the
health fair was “for students to
internalize important health concepts to own the information for themselves.” Lankenau Hospital “Healthy Me Lessons” brought
Widener students in and the program was taken a step further. Widener students facilitated
the research, provided the technology and support to mentor students at Stetser.
Tuesdays and Thursdays were “Healthy Me Lessons.” Fridays the Stetser students
did research for the health fair.
“The 6th grade students directed the whole thing,” said
Baldwin.
