From Delaware
Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC)
I hope you
will be able to join us at an upcoming meeting to gather public input for a new
planning project: the PA 291 Access Management Study. The meeting will be held
on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, from 6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. at the Chester
City Community Room. The Community Room is located at Chester City Hall, 1
Fourth Street.
The access
management study is being conducted by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning
Commission (DVRPC) as part of its long-range planning effort to address
potential improvements to PA 291 in the City of Chester and adjacent
municipalities.
The overall
goals of the study are to recommend policies to achieve a more sustainable
region, predicated on better linking land use and transportation plans and
projects to achieve smart growth. These can be achieved by providing local
government with both short-term and long-term recommendations for land use and
transportation improvements that will not only allow for safe and efficient
flow of traffic throughout the corridor, but also but also preserve and improve
the livability of the corridor and identify needed transportation improvements.
The study
will identify conceptual improvement alternatives that are aesthetically and
functionally compatible with the needs of the community. We hope you will be
able to join us and share your concerns and ideas for this corridor.
If you have
any questions, please contact David Anderson, Manager, DVRPC Office of
Transportation and Corridor Studies at 215-238-2825 or danderson@dvrpc.org.
