Here is the Good News:

Clippers get 2 new team members from Delaware. “Seniors Tyrell Sturdivant and Mahir Johnson are close friends who both transferred from Glasgow, DE for their final season of high school basketball. Johnson’s father, Mike Johnson, was teammates with Yarbray both at Chester and at Coppin State; it’s a bit of a homecoming for both players.” Interesting! To transfer the last year to come to Chester shows a lot of confidence in the Clippers. Remember these guys are gone, “Rashann DeJarnette, Darius Robinson, Richard Granberry and most notably Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, the McDonald’s All-American who’ll begin his college career this fall at Arizona.” So it’s a whole new era for Chester basketball now that the Class of 2013 has graduated. “We’ve got a new team–I’ve got 13 kids here, 12 of them have never even put the jersey on before,” said Coach Larry Yarbray.

“It’s going to help us in the rebuilding situation to have two guys like that–they’re both veterans, they’ve been on varsity the past three years so they know what it takes to win games,” Yarbray said. “Hopefully we can get some leadership from them, some lead-by-example type stuff because the rest of the guys are going to be 9th and 10th graders; hopefully they can lead the way.”

I am sure the Clippers will get more games in before opening season as they continue to gel together as a team on the basketball court.
