April at Crozer Library



The J. Lewis Crozer Library in Chester invites you to join us for upcoming free programs at the library. The library welcomes back Food for Fines this April. Donate nonperishable canned goods and reduce your fines by $1 for each donated item! Donations will cover overdue charges incurred before April 1, 2013, but will not apply to replacement items. Canned goods will be donated to the Bernardine Center.

Delaware County SCORE shares “How to Start a Business” in a free seminar on Tuesday evening, April 16th from 6:30-7:30p.m.

Aspiring artists of all ages are invited to an Origami Workshop on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00-11:30a.m. with the Penn State Master Gardeners’ Program. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the library.

On Saturday, April 20th from 12:00 to 3:00p.m., Annette Owens-Johnson comes to the library for a book signing. Owens-Johnson is featured in editor Debra Powell-Wright’s For Women: In Tribute to Nina Simone, a collection of stories and poems paying homage to the jazz great.

Celebrate Women in Poetry on Tuesday evening, April 23rd from 6:30-7:30p.m., with a special focus on the Muslim poet Rumi. Register to read a poem that is special to you!

The Friends of the J. Lewis Crozer Library’s Book and Bake Sale will take place on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. There is a strong collection of children’s nonfiction titles available at this sale. All proceeds directly benefit the J. Lewis Crozer Library.
