Black History Program at Chester High School

Chester High School held its annual Black History program today to culminate a month of black history instruction, projects and writing topics. This year’s Black History guests were Professor William Shields who shared the History of the Buffalo Soldiers; Curator Jim Vankoski who shared Six Decades of Chester High Basketball; and Artist Van Buren Payne who shared his art work.

To learn more about the Buffalo Soldiers, Six Decades of Chester High School Basketball, and Paintings from Mr. Payne visit the Museum of the History of Delaware County at 408 Avenue of the States in Chester PA. The exhibit will be on display until March 31st

The Museum is open to the public on Wednesday and Friday, 9am-4pm; Thursday 1pm-6:30pm; and Saturday, 9am-2pm. Special thanks go to the speakers for sharing their knowledge of Black History with the students and the Chester High School Social Studies Department for coordinating the program.
