FREE IMMUNIZATIONS

Free immunizations will be available for all county school-aged children from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. April 9-13 at the State Health Center, 151 W. Fifth St.

Pennsylvania Department of Health officials said students need to be registered by March 30. To register for an appointment, visit www.padohclinicappt.com.

According to the Department of Health, new immunizations took effect last August, which require children in all grades to receive a second dose of mumps vaccine as well as a second dose of the chicken pox vaccine.

The new requirements also call for seventh-graders to have one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) and one dose of the tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap).
