Remembering 9/11

Mayor Butler & Chester City Council join you in remembering those whose lives were lost in the September 11th Attacks

To commemorate this occasion and pay tribute to those we lost, the United States Senate, in an overwhelming demonstration of unity, unanimously passed a resolution establishing a national Moment of Remembrance at 1:00 PM on September 11, 2011.

During this time, you are asked to stop and remember those we lost in the September 11th attacks. The Moment of Remembrance will take place for one full minute. Cities, towns, firehouses, churches and all other institutions across the country are called upon to sound sirens and ring bells during that time. Please join us for this time of unity and solidarity.

As we take time to reflect on the 10th Anniversary as a day none of us will ever forget, let us come together to grieve, to remember, to express our gratitude to those who demonstrated what it is to be a hero, and to pledge ourselves to live in honor of their bravery.
