High Steppers Honors the Memory of Carla Carrington


Twenty-three years ago, Carla Carrington was taken too soon by a stray bullet. 

In honor of her daughter’s memory, Yvonne Carrington “along with a handful of others, including her daughter, Marcelle, Carrington formed the High Steppers, a drill team comprised of Chester youth.”

“The High Steppers have performed in various parades and events, since 1992, but their next show will hold extra sentiment for Carrington.”

“When the High Steppers appear on Fox 29’s ‘Good Day Philadelphia’ Wednesday morning, they’ll be performing on the 23rd anniversary of Carla’s death. The timing of the show was purely coincidental, Carrington said, but now holds special meaning.”
