Delaware State University Alumni Association

Dr. Harry L. Williams, President of Delaware State University
The Delaware State University Alumni Association (DSUAA) held their third annual “Summer Send Off” for the area. Although mostly students from Wilmington attended, there were others from New York. There will be at least five students, who have recently graduated from the Chester Upland School District, attending DSU this fall. The “send off” was intended to celebrate students attending DSU. Parents and students from the area were able to mingle to get to know each other.

Jamila Mustafa, Miss Teen Essence

Although DSU had several great orientations for new students, DSUAA had additional information on scholarships, housing, sports and answered questions from parents and students. Guest speakers included President of DSU Dr. Harry Williams, Director of Alumni Relations Lorene Robinson, President of DSUAA Ned Brown, Director of Athletics Derek Carter, Head Football Coach Kermit Blount, and Government Relations Specialist Victor Santos. Also speaking to the group, Miss Teen Essence Jamila Mustafa will be attending DSU in the fall.

It won’t be long now. Students will be off to school soon. And hopefully, they would have gotten enough information to get started. You can never be too prepared. Best wishes to all the students!
