At the June 9th Chester Upland School District Board Meeting, 16 Youth Court student participants were recognized for their service to the Chester High School Youth Court.  Students earn rewards in the program by serving as jurors, bailiffs, advocates, clerks and judges; nearly 1,200 volunteer hours were accumulated by 61 students in this, the program's fourth year.   Rewards have included field trips, I-Pods, Laptop Computers, and water sports on the Chesapeake Bay.  The rewards earned are based on the number of hours contributed, with 50 hours earning a laptop computer this year, and 25 hours earning the I-Pod.

This year's recipients included:
Unity Center President Gene Foehl, with Cash award recipients (l to r) - Kareem Greenwood, Alton Briscoe, Keith Carr, Darnell Alexander, Brian Foster, Jamar Saunders

Founding members Alton Briscoe, Keith Carr, Brian Foster, and Jamar Saunders received cash awards, contributing a combined 300 hours. Also receiving cash awards were graduating seniors Darnell Alexander and Kareem Greenwood.
