High School Seniors ... we've got a scholarship offer for you

FYI Scholarship News from delcotimes:

Times staff story

Attention high school seniors who might be future journalists: The Daily Times is seeking your participation in its annual contest for the Bill Brown Memorial Scholarship. Any high school senior who is interested in competing for the $1,000 college award should contact sports editor Rob Parent or assistant sports editor Terry Toohey as soon as possible to register. When you do, be ready to write a story dealing with any topic in sports that runs approximately 600 words. The stories will be judged on structure, clarity, reporting effort, how topical it is and yes, how free of typographical errors it might be. The stories will be read and judged by the Daily Times sports staff, and all stories must be submitted no later than May 30. This is a tight deadline business ... and this scholarship offer is earned under such conditions. So in other words, please hurry. Register by sending an email to
rparent@delcotimes.com or ttoohey@delcotimes.com; or call our office at 610-622-8880 after 5 p.m. The scholarship is named after the late Bill Brown, the longtime Phillies beat writer at the Daily Times.
