The 2011 Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is accepting applications for an upcoming program on from May 9th through May 11th. The Leadership Academy is for Delaware County high school sophomores. The program is sponsored by the Delaware County Workforce Investment Board, Youth Council and Regional Career Education Partnership, and Foundation of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.
The Youth Leadership Academy provides for an outstanding opportunity for area 10th grade students to meet and work with local business, government community, and media leaders. The program goal is to celebrate student achievement and the power of leadership. The program also encourages Delaware County high school sophomores to become better prepared to take on future leadership opportunities.
The Youth Leadership Academy will hold interactive sessions that will address a variety of topics, including Business Leadership, Future Trends in Delaware County, Working with the Media, Government, Political, and Non-Profit Leadership. The program will be held at Penn State Brandywine Campus. The YLA believes that our future depends on the next generation who is willing to accept challenges.
