Anthony Reed, a student at Chester High School, has been nominated to participate in the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) this summer.  The conference is sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC). Since 1985, CYLC has encouraged over 200,000 young people to achieve their full leadership potential. The council is a nonpartisan, independent, educational organization. The conference has invited outstanding high school students from across the United States to interact within the three branches of government, the news media, and the international community in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

Anthony is a junior at Chester High School. He has received numerous awards for citizenship, perfect attendance, and academic excellence. He has participated in Peer Leading, Catalyst for Change Inc., and the Entrepreneurship Club. He has recently won in the Science Fair and will go on to the next level of the Delaware County Science Fair. He has maintained distinguished honors at Chester High School.

Anthony was chosen to represent the State of Pennsylvania in the National Young Leadership Conference. He will sit amongst members of the U.S. Congress and other leaders to discuss a series of current issues facing our nation today. The conference is focused on experiencing various aspects of leadership, reasoning, and responsibility.

Anthony is being sponsored by the Chester Center for Second Chances Inc., which is accepting donations and additional sponsors to fund the trip. 1. I just want to thank everyone for chipping in to help and being supportive. My mother and I are working very hard to raise money. I give praise to all that are able to help even just if the thought counts as well. I also want to thank Dr. Hammond and Ms. B for sharing our information.

  2. Have fun. It's not a real conference it's a company trying to instill leadership in youth for a good PRICEY cause. Great experience. Not a scam. But don't be disappointed if you don't meet all the people you think you are going to meet. Not all (if any) of Congress is really officiated with this program.
