Write Like an Egyptian

Write like an Egyptain contest was created by Mr. Pasquale Scorzetti World History Teacher at Chester High School. Contest rules required students to write their name in Egyptian Hieroglyphics in a neat and colorful way in competition with fellow classmates. The contest ran through Monday, January 31, 2011. Using an Egyptian Hieroglyphic Translator, students wrote their names in Egyptian Hieroglyphics. Students showed off their creative and artistic ability by competing in the contest. Here are the contest winners and Mr. Scorzetti:
1st place --Anthony Reed $25 Visa gift card
2nd place--Shaionna Shovall $20 Visa gift card
3rd place--Angelque Satchell $15 iTunes gift card

From Mr. Scorzetti also Contest Director and donor for the contest:

We had a lot of entries and I would like to send out a BIG THANKS to all the teachers who encouraged their students to participate, although many students did participate on their own. This was the 1st year for this contest and I thought we had a very good response and some excellent entries. Honestly it was difficult to pick between 1st and 2nd place..almost a coin flip. I look forward to running the contest again next year.

  1. This was a pretty exciting contest since I was in it of course. When it comes down to art I enjoy competition. But that really doesn't matter, as long as we had fun doing it.

  2. I like hieroglyphics and art so this sounds like it was really cool.
