Chester v Interboro

From Chester Clippers:

Chester (17-1, 7-0) pushed its win streak to 12 games with a 98-37 decision over the Interboro Bucs. Playing their final regular season game at the Clip Joint, seniors Lamon Church (7), Maurice Nelson (5) and DeQuann Walker (4) combined for 16 of the Clippers 26 first quarter points and the rout was on at 26-9 at the end of the period. Juniors Erikk Wright with 10 and Ikeam Watkins with 9 on three treys took control in the 2nd quarter as the Clippers outscored the Bucs 27-14 to increase their lead to 30 points at 53-23. The senior starters returned in the 3rd quarter and once again took command of the Clipper ship scoring 17 of Chester's 25 third quarter points. But, it was a two handed dunk by Erikk Wright at 2:42 that put the score at 69-28 enacting the Mercy Rule for the loyal Clipper fans in attendance. The only question left unanswered was "Would the Clippers reach the century mark for the second night in a row"? While the Clippers packed in the 2-3 zone for the 4th quarter, the Robinson brothers of junior Kareem and sophomore Darius led the way in the final stanza converting several Interboro turnovers into a combined 14 of Chester's 20 points. Sophomore Rondae Jefferson 3 points along with Watkins as the Clippers fell 2 points short of 100.

Chester put 6 players in double figures led by Erikk Wright's who matched his season high of 20 points. Joining him were Nelson (14), Church (13), Kareem Robinson, Walker and Watkins each with 12 points. Rondae Jefferson filled the stat sheet with 4 assists, 1 block, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. The Clippers also shared the wealth with 24 assists on their 38 made baskets led by Darius Robinson and Ikeam Watkins who each reach career highs with 5 assists.

Lamon Church is proving to be one of the best players in the county while player only 17 minutes and 32 seconds collected 4 assists, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and forced 6 Interboro turnovers to go along with his 13 points.

The Clippers will travel to Atlantic City High School to participate in the Battle By The Bay Showcase on Saturday, February 5, 2011 where they will face the Plainsfield Cardinals at 5:00 p.m.
