CUSD Science Fair

Science projects were on display across the school district today as the Science Fair opened up for judging this week. All 9 schools are participating in the Science Fair. Once the judging is complete, finalists will be chosen by Friday, January 28, 2011. Projects that make the finalists will be on displayed in the Science & Discovery library from 5-7 PM on Monday, January 31, 2011. Parents and the community are invited to attend the event. Finalists from the Science Fair will move on to attend the (Delaware County Intermediate Unit) DCIU Science Fair in March.

Dr. Wright and her group actually went to the creeks for testing. The results were that both creeks had a PH of 7.5. While Chester Creek is downstream and Ridley Creek is upstream, Dr. Wright discovers that, “Chester is not all bad” considering Chester has city components and a treatment plant while Ridley is in a park area.

Dr. Wright Explaining her group's Science Project to Judge Dr. Rachel Foster
The projects were supervised by Science Teachers Dr. Delores Wright (Chemistry), Mary Tucker (Biology), and Namita Mazumdar (Biology). Any projects that place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will go to Science and Discovery for display. Great start for the Science Fair!

  2. As being one of the participants of the Science Fair, this visit was pretty exciting. Nothing but anxiety and patience. We ended up winning and actually being picked. Our project (Egg-Citing 2) came in third!!!
