Chester High School Football vs. Interboro

Interboro (Bucs) Chester
Report by James Peach Howard

Turn back almost a year ago (Nov. 1st to be exact) in the rain and mud the Clippers bullied the Bucs to a 30-12 final. Now come to the present, a nice clear sunny autumn day. The Bucs return the favor and beat Chester 40-18. As earlier losses the Clippers were in every game. But not on this day Interboro controlled the game from beginning to the end. They were just stronger and wanted it more as was stated from several players leaving the Chester Athletic Complex. That was the best team we’ve seen this year as was stated from the coaching staff.

Interboro led going into the half 22-0, then scored again to start the 3rd quarter to make it 28-0. Then the Clippers came to life, Jamir Green threw a 25 yard TD pass to Rashee Alexander to put Chester on the board. Five minutes later, Jaquan Flood caught a 10 yard leaping TD pass and the Clippers were within 28-12. Interboro then stretched their lead in the 4th quarter putting the game away. Rashee Alexander then caught another pass racing 43 yards to close out the scoring.

In the loss there were some good things as Jamir Green threw 3 TD passes (has 4TD passes since becoming the starter). Rashee Alexander caught 2 TD passes and had an interception to stop a TD. D’Andre Dill had 13 tackles (11solo & 2 TFL’s) as well as Devan Freeman, Arlo Lee, Jr. & Ed Nelson, Jr. having strong defensive showing also. The loss drops Chester to 2-5 (overall) 2-1 (league). The Clippers can still win the league title if they win their last two games and get some help. And that starts with defending league champ Academy Park. It’ll be Chester’s last home game of the 2015 season. It’s also homecoming as well as senior day. Kickoff is at noon with all the homecoming festivities prior to kickoff and at halftime. Also the senior football players as well as the senior cheerleaders will be acknowledged before the start of the game.

Homecoming game, Saturday, October 31st at 12 PM
