Judge Woodruff, Pastor Collins, Mayor Linder |
In a church service
on May 3, 2015 at the Church of the Overcomer located in Trainer, PA, Judge
Dwayne Woodruff spoke to the congregation. He is running for the Supreme Court
in Pennsylvania. Judge Woodruff serves on the Court of Common Pleas of
Allegheny County in Pittsburgh presiding over the Family Court Division. He
does have a Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law. Some may
remember him as a football player on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played 12
seasons including playing in Super Bowl XIV. He served on a number of
prestigious committees but what we discussed briefly was his appointment to the
Inter-branch Commission on Juvenile Justice in which he made recommendations to
the state following Luzerne County’s “Kids for Cash” case. “Kids for Cash” was a
case we had studied. The judges in the case are still serving jail time
according to Judge Woodruff.
Shout out to
Pastor Keith Collins of the Church of the Overcomer who not only celebrated his
birthday today but took part in the Broad Street Run and made it to church on
time to give an awesome sermon. The message is always on point when I visit.
Congratulations to Dr. Collins and Pastor Collins for a great service.
City of
Chester Mayor Linder was also in attendance with his running mates.
