Chester, Pa. – The Boys & Girls
Club of Chester will host a benefit concert featuring renowned R&B artist
Avery Sunshine to celebrate their 85th Anniversary on March 19 at 7
p.m. at Harrah’s Philadelphia Racetrack & Casino.
Avery Sunshine, a Chester native, is
looking forward to returning to the city for such an important cause. While
growing up in Chester, Avery Sunshine lived blocks from the Boys & Girls
Club and realized the value in having a space for children to go where they can
feel safe and learn in a supportive environment.
The members of the Boys & Girls
Club hope the community comes together to support the organization’s mission to
offer activities for Chester’s youth, as a majority of the proceeds will go
directly toward Boys & Girls Club programming.
“It is vital that the youth of our
community have a venue such as the Boys & Girls Club of Chester to develop
as young people,” Janet Riley-Ford, executive director for the Boys & Girls
Club of Chester, said. “We are grateful for the support from our sponsors and
Avery Sunshine for collaborating on what will be an unforgettable night.”
Avery Sunshine will perform her
songs from her recent hit album the SunRoom in the new event facility at
Harrah’s Casino. The pricing for this special event is $50 for general
admission and $85 for VIP admission, which includes a meet and greet with Avery
Sunshine at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at www.boysgirlsclubchester.com or by calling (610)
874-1237.
Event sponsors include: City of
Chester, Earl Foster Funereal Home, Harrah’s Philadelphia, Local 413 Laborers
Union, Monroe Energy, and The Chester Spirit.
