Chester's five
game January win streak stopped by the Imhotep Panthers 54-69 at the Kobe
Bryant Classic held at Lower Merion High School. The Clippers had no wind
in their sails in the first half as they found themselves trailing 18-33
at intermission. Sophomore Jamar Sudan's 8 third quarter points
allowed Chester to stay close but they were unable to cut into the
Panthers margin and looking at a 32-48 deficit at the end of the
third quarter. The Clippers finally found themselves offensively in
the 4th quarter producing 22 points but their lack of defense
allowed Imhotep to score 21 to end the contest.
The Clippers had a off day all around only putting six players in the scoring column led by Sudan and Marquis Collins who both contributed 13 points. Junior Stanley Davis joined his teammates in double figures with 11 points while senior Keyonte Watkins added 9, junior Deshawn Hinson chimed in with 5 and Maurice Henry completed the scoring with 3 points. Jamar Sudan was awarded the team's MVP for the contested as he recorded another double-double with 12 rebounds. Maurice Henry also had double digit rebounds with 11.
Chester will return to home on Tuesday, January 21st with the Glen Mills Battlin' Bulls visit the Fred Pickett Jr. Gymnasium for a Del Val League contest.
