The Chester Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is hosting a public meeting during the 84th Northeastern Province Council, 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20 at the Philadelphia Mariott Airport. The province meeting is scheduled to end on March 23.
The public meeting portion of the fraternity's regional gathering serves as an introduction of the fraternity and the local chapter to the local community and surrounding vicinity, as well as, the chance for the local community to welcome the fraternity to the area for its conference.
The fraternity also takes the opportunity to acknowledge persons/entities that have made an impact on the local area in the way of service in conjunction with this year's theme “Inspiring to Service in the Public’s Interest.”
This year's awardees include: Julani Ghana, director, College Access Center of Delaware County; Darren Laws, founder and president of The Mission Project; Xi Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa National Sorority Inc.; Kenneth Covert, founder of Brothers of Concern; and Pat Coulter, president/CEO of Urban League of Philadelphia.
The Northeast Province consists of chapters in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Germany and the United Kingdom.
