New book
highlights the Value of Creating Unique Christmas Traditions
A family comes together to choose a
very special Christmas tree in ‘Going for the Christmas Tree’
Every year author Maryfran
Stulginsky and her family bought their Christmas tree at Mays Christmas Trees,
in Chester, Pa. It became one of the biggest family events of the year
for the Stulginskys, an occasion no one would dare miss. In 2012, the May
family closed their tree yard after 60 years. Now Stulginsky honors the Mays
and the memories they shared in her new children’s book, “Going for the
Christmas Tree: A True Story” (published by Trafford Publishing).
“It’s a tale about making memories,
building a tradition and creating family among strangers in a very unlikely
place”, says Stulginsky.
The book follows a family through
the years as they turn the ever-daunting task of picking a tree into a
wonderful tradition that brings them all close together.
An excerpt from “Going for the
Christmas Tree”:
“Whoever would believe that an event so simple would become
such a special occasion and be treasured so deeply making a family from
strangers-a Christmas Blessing for all.”
Stulginsky believes the book’s message is simple: presence
is the best gift of all.
“I think the book is appealing
because it’s a different kind of children’s Christmas story; real people are
making something wonderful happen for each other at Christmastime.”
