Cloud Atlas

Tom Hanks and Halle Berry from Cloud Atlas

If you believe that there is something to reincarnation or ever had the feeling of déjà vu, then you must see this film. If you can sit through the near 3 hours and keep track of all the intertwining stories of people who connect over centuries, then this movie is for you. You might think this movie is boring but it is a blast.

“Cloud Atlas” is based on a novel written by David Mitchell that has been turned into a major motion picture starring Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, and Hugh Grant. I thought the acting was superb as these actors played different convincing roles throughout the movie. The film is worthy of an Academy Award. This is the kind of movie I can take apart by seeing again and again.

Do you believe the soul can be born again? Can we live multiply lives over generations? The subject is very fascinating. If you haven’t thought about reincarnation, this movie will get you hooked. When one door closes, another door opens. If you had this perpetual feeling that you have been here before or had an unexplainable connection to someone you have never met, then this idea is worth exploring.

Warning! This movie is complex. One opinion I had so far is that the movie is too long and a waste of time. Oh, well, if you can’t handle complex, skip it.  If you feel you’ve been in a state of perpetual living, you might want to opt for Nirvana.
