Widener University’s FreshBaked Theatre Company will present The Lake at the End of the World, a musical for young audiences, on Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. in Widener’s Alumni Auditorium on Main Campus in Chester, Pa. The musical is for ages 5 and up and has a running time of 45 minutes.

The FreshBaked Theatre Company will also hold special performances Thursday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. in Alumni Auditorium for local schools and homeschooling groups. Reservations for these performances are required and can be made by e-mailing Director Lisa Eckley Cocchiarale at ljcocchiarale@mail.widener.edu.

Admission to all shows is by free will cash donation, with all funds benefiting the Bernardine Center Food Pantry in Chester. Suggested donation is $2 per person.
Drawn from an ancient Inca folktale, this musical shows how a young girl, filled with truth and courage, can bring healing and hope to her people. The tale is energized by Nancy Rosenberg’s music, which also showcases the Inca culture.

Since 2001, the FreshBaked Theatre Company has promoted Widener’s mission of civic engagement with quality drama for children and their families in the greater Chester area. The ensemble strives to produce thought-provoking productions that challenge both young and adult audience members. “Our mission is to present inventive drama for young minds and the people who nurture them,” said Cocchiarale.
