Overdue for an extreme Makeover

The B Blog has changed somewhat. Everything is in the same place and the color scheme is the same. I kept the same bright orange/yellow background. I have always wanted a picture window view and now I have it. The postings should be easier to read because of the wider view.

Please continue to check in to see what I have to share on the B Blog.

Thank you

Facing more changes on Facebook

Every time I seem to log on to Facebook, I see some kind of decision I have to make about application when all I want to do is post my information and move on. When I first joined Facebook about three years ago, hard to believe it has been that long, I was apprehensive about joining. I was only trying to get in touch with one lone friend which ended up being pointless. Once I joined, I was like a kid with a new toy, sharing TMI. Now it’s just becoming too complicated and boring. And then there was that situation with the stocks, LOL.

I don’t know how people get the thousands of friends that they do and actually know these people. I have little over 100 on my regular page and I probably know or have met a quarter of that number. Now no one I actually know, even a few family members, post on a regular basis. They just pop on to post their status or share a few pictures. Then there are others who are on constantly, SMH!

I have found that I don’t need to post on my regular page anymore. My readers know how to find my blog anyway. I can open the blog on my phone and read it. For the few readers and supporters who like my Facebook blog page, I will continue to post stories for their convenience. I will continue to monitor my page so I am not completely done with it. But I have definitely grown out of it. Yes, I am over it.

Supreme Court Upholds ObamaCare

US Supreme Court

No not Good News, Great News for President Obama

By a 5-4 decision the Supreme Court upholds President Obama’s Health Care Law.

The majority opinion was written by Chief Justice John Roberts, “The Affordable Care Act is constitutional in part and unconstitutional in part,” Roberts wrote. Roberts held that the law was a valid exercise of Congress’s power to tax.

Ann Curry Class Act

Ann Curry picture from this morning Today Show

I cried with Ann Curry this morning as she announced that today was her last day on the Today Show. Ann has been on the Today since 1997. Fifteen year ago she started as a news anchor. I start my mornings off with the Today Show so I have watched her for most of that time. What I know from watching Ann report the news is that she is a hard-core news anchor who somehow shows sensitivity in her questioning of major news stories. This is the Ann I like to watch.

We have been hearing that Ann Curry would be fired from the Today Show because of low ratings. Ann replaced Meredith Vieira after she left last year. Before that Ann was overlooked for Vieira who replaced Katie Couric. So NBC gave Ann a shot as co-host with Matt Lauer. Since the ratings dropped to ABC's Good Morning America, Ann became the “odd man out.”

NBC is not known for its tact in letting people go. “Transitions between anchors can often be bumpy for networks — even at "Today." When Jane Pauley took over for Barbara Walters in 1976, ratings initially dropped before they stabilized. And Pauley's replacement, Deborah Norville, barely lasted a year before Katie Couric successfully stepped in for her” Los Angeles Times.
And then there was the debacle with Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien Click Here.

NBC is giving Ann her own show to do what I think she does best. So few of us really get to know what our true calling in life is and sometimes it takes some time to get there. Life offers some tough lessons for all of us no matter how we get to our realization. Ann can do without the fluff of the Today Show. I am glad NBC had the sense to keep her so she would not go over to some place like Fox news because I don’t watch Fox news. Go ahead and cry Ann and we will all cry with you tears of joy as you fulfill your true destiny. You go girl!

By the way, the Today Show still won an Emmy.

Cruising with Percy Crews II

Percy Crews II (dsbpix)

Percy Crews II was responsible for the big smile I had on my face last week (picture not shown).  No, it’s not what you think. I caught not one but three of his shows at the Punchliner Comedy Club over the Atlantic Ocean. He says every time he comes on stage, he performs a different show. I saw one family friendly act and two adult shows. He is right. All the shows were different. I got my laugh on. The shows were very funny and entertaining.

Here is his Bio:

Not limited to the waters, Percy Crews II has performed at clubs and venues around the US including Comedy Stop (Las Vegas), Funny Bone (10 locations), All Jokes Aside (Chicago), Slap Stix (New Orleans), The House (Dallas) and Laughs (Raleigh), Just to name a few. He has been featured on national television as a two time guest on "It's Showtime at the Apollo" and BET's "Comic View" where he headlined an All-Star Spotlight. He also appeared in a special segment entitled, "A Joke a Minute" on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Percy says he is coming to a town near you. So if you get the chance, go see his show.
