American Bandstand filled some of my Saturday afternoons with lots of the latest music and dance. 'New Year's Rocking Eve' made it comfortable to bring a New Year in.
The program ‘Bandstand’ made its national debut as ‘American Bandstand’ on Aug. 5, 1957 in Philadelphia with Dick Clark as its host. Later the show moved to Los Angeles and came to an end in 1989. Dick Clark also “served as the longtime host of New York's annual year-end festivities in Times Square.”
