Clippers vs. Carlisle: Middle School Basketball

Middle School Clippers: Students from Main Street, Columbus, Toby, and Village (dsbpix)

The Chester Middle School Clippers took on Carlisle (DE) in a fast and furious game. Both sides played a good game and were tied up in the second quarter 16 to 16. Third quarter the Clippers took off 29 to 23 and won by 42 to 33. No need to worry about these upcoming Clippers, although they are 8 graders, they are ready for high school basketball. Most were Biddy leaguers so they have had years of experience playing the game. Top players are Edward Nelson, Khaleeq Campbell, Marquis Collins, and Stanley Davis. The Clippers are now 16 and 1. They have 16 wins this season. Coach Andre Moore said they have only had 2 losses in 2 years, one last season and the other this season. The loss was to Lansdowne but the Clippers came back to beat them twice after the loss. Last year, the Clippers won the Del Val Youth League Championship and they are headed for the championship again in March. Clippers will play Penn Wood on Wednesday.

Here are a few pictures from today’s game.
