Chester Clippers vs. Constitution Generals in Basketball

Clippers in action

Friday night the clip joint was packed in its first game opener at Chester High School. The Clippers won over Coatesville 79-66. Last night the Clippers played the Constitution Generals to a full house. Not as packed as Friday but there were four back to back games played on Saturday. The game was hosted by the Omega Psi Phi fraternity for scholarship benefit.

The Generals started out fast and aggressive up against the Clippers. The Clippers lagged behind. Some rowdy Generals’ fans sat directly behind me screaming “Daiquan” (Generals' player number 11). They were not in the Generals’ section but the Clippers’ fans tolerated the rude name calling. My ears took a beating but the Generals' fans were excited about their initial small lead. By half-time the Clippers led by 34-32. Clippers picked up their game third quarter to lead by 49-34. The excited Generals’ fans now resorted to trashing the cheerleaders and cursing the referees. They yelled to their team to “bring that s*** back up” with 2:12 to go in the third.

The Clippers continued to lead into the fourth quarter 59-42 with 2:44 to go. When the lead widened to 61-43 with 2:26 to go, Generals’ fans consoled their team with, “it’s cool y’all.” Clippers’ fans responded, “It’s cool because y’all lost.” Oops, sorry Daiquan! Clippers got this one 70-46.
